Call for Submissions: BHMA 100-Year Virtual Museum
 

Submission Window: May 2025 – July 21, 2025

As we celebrate a century of impact, the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) is creating a Virtual Museum to honor the people, products, and moments that have shaped our industry. This interactive exhibit will debut as part of our 100-Year Anniversary Celebration in October 2025 and remain online as a lasting tribute to the legacy of BHMA and its members.

We are calling on you, our members, to help tell this story.

Whether you’ve been a part of BHMA for decades or joined more recently, we invite you to submit historical artifacts, documents, photos, products, or memorabilia that showcase how our industry—and your company—has evolved over the past 100 years.

This is your opportunity to share your place in builders hardware history and help us build something truly meaningful for the entire BHMA community.
 

What to Submit

We welcome all types of historical materials, including:

• Photos of products, prototypes, catalogs, or packaging
• Company marketing materials from past decades
• Snapshots from BHMA meetings, plant tours, or industry events
• Technical documents or early versions of standards
• Tools, signage, or other physical memorabilia

You may submit as many items as you'd like. Please complete one form per item.
 

Required Details

For each item you submit, we’ll ask for:

• Name of the item (e.g., 1960s Door Closer Prototype)
• Estimated date or time period (e.g., circa 1985, early 2000s)
• Short description (2–4 sentences explaining the significance of the item and how it fits into BHMA or industry history)
• Approximate size or dimensions, if applicable
• Your name and organization, for proper credit

Photo Guidelines

• Submit a clear, high-quality photo of the item against a neutral background if possible.
• File size must be under 2MB to upload via the form.
• For larger files, you may email them directly to [email protected].
• If you need help digitizing an older artifact or document, contact us—we’re happy to assist.
