BHMA Announces New Slate of Officers for 2018-2019

Patricia Yulkowski, CEO of Total Door Systems, elected as president of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association

NEW YORK (January 25, 2018) – 2018 marks a year of new leadership for the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA), which today announces its new slate of officers for the upcoming term.

BHMA has elected Patricia Yulkowski, CEO of Total Door Systems, to succeed Dan Picard, director of innovation at ASSA ABLOY Americas, as president of the association. Serving with Yulkowski is:

  • First Vice President John Cringole, product and market sales manager at Horton Automatics;
  • Second Vice President Mark Bloom, vice president of engineering at Spectrum Brands;
  • Third Vice President Tim Weller, codes, standards and sustainability manager at Allegion.

“The success of BHMA over the past several decades can be attributed to the hard work of our past presidents,” said Yulkowski. “I look forward to building upon these successes and leading BHMA into a new decade as we complete the redesign of the online Certified Products Directory; continue to grow the BHMA standards program; take the next steps in both our sustainable and residential programs; and, of course, address the evolving needs of our members and the market, starting with the BHMA Leadership Roundtable in February.”

BHMA will host a roundtable event on February 6 in Tampa, FL for senior leadership and CEOs of some of today’s biggest names in hardware manufacturing. The event will kick-off with a keynote presentation by Tom Gates, president, TGGates & Associates, in which he will discuss the rapid evolvement of the security industry as well as industry trends, involving new technologies. Gates’ presentation will be followed by an overview of BHMA’s multi-faceted role in the builders’ hardware industry from BHMA Executive Director, Ralph Vasami. The day will conclude with a general discussion about hardware industry trends and the next steps BHMA plans to take to address them.
