BHMA to Discuss Building Codes and Government Affairs at Fall Meeting

Organization to focus on hardware standards and code development in the industry

10/17/2011 - 8:00pm

New York, NY (October 18, 2011) – Members of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association will meet to discuss issues related to the development of new standards and the role of code development in the evolution of builders hardware regulations during the annual fall meeting, held October 18 – 20 at The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, FL.

BHMA standards committees will be reviewing and updating four standards: A156.34 on Ligature Resistant Hardware, A156.37 on Multipoint Locks, A156.18 on Materials and Finishes, and A156.19 on Low Power Operated Doors.

"The ANSI/BHMA standards for builders hardware are reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that product requirements keep pace with design, manufacturing and testing advances," said BHMA executive director, Ralph Vasami. "Specifiers and architects who specify BHMA certified hardware can be sure that the products meet these standards, are durable, and that they will receive a return on their investment."
